It is extremely durable and looks like it could all be painted very easily, if you would like more color. Much more realisitc for the younger doll house players. My daughter loves these. I appreciated the company's knowledge of designing the pets so it is proportional to the dolls. My daughter enjoys playing with the pets, especially the rabbit since we do not own one. Keep in mind that this set comes with a tiny dog bone so if you have an infant who likes to play alongside your son/daughter, you may want to put away the bone as it can be a choking hazard! dollhouse accessories The pet set is simply adorable. She is now about three years old, and is still as delighted with the entire series as much as she was the first day she saw these toys. This set helps to teach children the importance of the role of family, of matching and placing furniture pieces and other parts in appropriate rooms to learn organizational skills, to learn the importance of picking up one's own toys, and more. While it is highly doubtful that she realized just what expecting a new little sister meant, she does enjoy role playing with this toy and will probably learn to share it with her sister in a few months time. The set is very durable, even with active children, and wipes clean with a damp cloth.
